Master planning of former Queen Mary and Westfield College site in Woodford. The existing Site comprised residential campus accommodation including 3 no. 15 storey 1950’s towers. The site lies between High Road, Woodford, the North Circular and the overland Central line with a listed Georgian merchant’s house set back from the front of the site. The proposals removed the 1960’s campus buildings and replaced with a residential development of 452 flats and houses set around a series of squares. Sections through the squares were designed to have 3 and 4 storey elements running east to west allowing for good solar access with taller blocks running north to south.

Private gardens for houses on the northern boundary act as an ‘in between’ realm to the Churchfields school beyond. The west of the site is landscaped to including parkland, meadowland, play areas and marshland.
