Location Hertfordshire Size 2 offices at ground 2 live/work 10 residential units Client English Sangha Trust Photos Morley Von Sternberg We were approached by the English Sangha Trust to review the servicing, environmental and movement strategies across the Amaravati Monastery site and opportunities for replacement of temporary accommodation structures still in place from the war. We worked with the trust to develop a masterplan that opens up the centre of the site for public open days; provides new accommodation for the Monk’s Vihara, Male guests and Retreat Centre - set around courtyards; and restricts parking and servicing to the edges of the site. The site falls within the Chilterns Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty and we subsequently worked with Rolfe Judd Planning and Entran Highways to develop with Dacorum District Planning a Special Planning Brief for the site. |
