The design responds to the vibrant and varied context with red and white brick, stone trims and stepped reveals acknowledging bot surrounding Victorian buildings and the Art Deco store at 33-37. The new flats are provided with generous balconies, roof terraces and a beautifully landscaped south facing courtyard featuring Tooting Lido inspired coloured booth seating - we couldn’t quite fit a pool in! The ground plan is designed to allow a through route between the adjacent markets within any wider future regeneration plans. The proposals were developed together with Centro Planning, Philip Cave Associates Landscaping, Hawkins Environmental and TPA Transport. |
